“Saw one small sleeping whale gently surface 3 times after about an hour and a half of searching. The crew was awesome and the views from the boat were great as well. In summary, if you only have a couple days in Sydney, I wouldn’t recommend this. It’s a long time and you might not see whales or have a similar experience to what I saw. If you’re dead-set on maybe seeing a whale and get a fun boat ride, do it!”

“we did the afternoon whale watching cruise it was thought was so two of our four people backed out preferring to go milder seas it was hard to see any whales because it was so choppy we managed to find one who put on a bit of a display for us sadly all I managed to catch on my phone was four splashes the whales were just too fast for me couldn't hear the commentary over the booming seas The boat was adequate and seemed stable enough even in the larger waves so we could go quite a way out to find the whale activity”

Start at Circular Quay Wharf 6 for a 2.5-hour open-water cruise in search of humpback whales from May to November. Then visit Taronga Zoo at your own pace before returning by Rocket Ferry. Expect commentary, outdoor viewing, sea motion, and a whale guarantee with important seasonal limits.

“We did not see any whales, which the commentator said was very unusual! We were told we could either re-book or get a refund. When we asked for a refund, we were told there were no refunds! We then received tickets for 2 day “hop on / hop off” ferries which we really couldn’t use! We booked the whale watching/zoo combo deal. The zoo part was great! The boat part of the whale watching was great. Unfortunately, we did not see any whales. What we did not know was that the whale watching was no longer offered after today (November 8). So rebooking was not really an option.”
